Abstract: The way individuals form bonds with others is influenced by their emotions, cognitive processes, and particularly by the attachment style developed during childhood. This attachment style may persist into adulthood and significantly influence the dynamics of romantic relationships, either positively or negatively, especially in aspects such as communication and intimacy. The aim of the present study was to analyze differences in attachment styles between men and women in early adulthood based on relationship status. A non-experimental, quantitative, comparative, and cross-sectional research design was employed. Data were collected using the snowball sampling method through a Google Form, which included the "Attachment Styles Scale" developed by Márquez, Rivera, and Reyes (2009). The results showed that men tend to exhibit a more avoidant attachment style, with statistically significant differences compared to women. No significant sex-based differences were found in secure or anxious attachment styles. Regarding relationship status, single individuals demonstrated higher levels of anxious and avoidant attachment, whereas secure attachment was more prevalent among individuals in a romantic relationship.
