Abstract: This article analyzes school assessment from the perspective of Edgar Morin's complex thought, proposing the overcoming of traditional, classificatory, and reductionist models. Based on authors such as Morin, Luckesi, Hoffmann, Demo, Moraes, and Perrenoud, it advocates for a formative, dialogical, ethical, and contextualized evaluation. Drawing from principles such as recursiveness, hologrammaticity, and dialogics, it values uncertainty, the learners' journey, and the promotion of autonomy. It is emphasized that rethinking assessment also involves revisiting teacher education through reflective and collaborative practices. Finally, the article proposes the construction of a new evaluative culture aimed at students' emancipation and the reinvention of pedagogical practice.
