Abstract: Literary reading is a right and an essential pillar in human development. This project sought to verify how reading experiences involving works by Afro-Brazilian and African female authors promote intercultural education and the formation of reading communities. The methodology adopted a qualitative/ethnographic approach, utilizing structured reading circles with action-research and investigation-action practices. The theoretical framework included Post-colonial Studies and Feminist Studies. The results showed that participants defined strategies, participated in discussions, and identified sociocultural aspects, evidencing intercultural relations through reading.
