Abstract: The aim of this article was to determine the impact of the ECOYACHAYWASI program on the development of environmental awareness among parents and preschool children from a public early childhood education institution in the district of Cajabamba during 2024. The study adopted a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 31 parents and 32 children. A questionnaire was applied to assess environmental awareness across cognitive, affective, conative, and active dimensions. The results revealed statistically significant differences between the pretest and posttest scores, confirming the effectiveness of the ECOYACHAYWASI program in strengthening participants’ environmental awareness. It is concluded that the program represents a relevant educational strategy to promote pro- environmental attitudes and practices from early childhood education, emphasizing the role of the family as a key agent in fostering a responsible environmental culture
